Open the Gate
This fun card is another of the projects we will make at this month's Stamp Camp, which is tomorrow, July 14, at 6 p.m.
I used the Big Shot and the large Scalloped Circle die to create the flaps of the gate fold. A gate-fold card is one that opens in the center, rather than at the right or bottom.
The center medallion is another versatile image from the new Circle Circus set.
I love the ways you can cut or punch out this image, then reconstruct it with Stampin' Dimensionals for more impact. I see more "medallion stamping" in my future!

Animal Stories, Take 2
Need a quickie card you can crank out in about 5 minutes? Look no further than the new Animal Stories set, and the companion Tall Tales Designer Series Paper.
This card uses the paper to guide your eye over to the little bird focal point. What is he, anyway? An owl? In any case, he's awfully cute! I stamped him in Brilliant Blue, first bothering to check which colors go with the Tall Tales paper. Did you know that is listed in the catalog now? Under every DSP in the catty is a listing of the ink and cardstock colors that match that particular DSP. It takes all the guesswork out of creating, and I'm all about that!

Living in the Shadows
In this case, living in the shadows isn't so bad! This is a shadow-box style 3D card. The beauty of it is that it has great dimension, and yet can be folded flat for mailing. This is just one of the three projects we will make at Stamp Camp on July 14, at 6 p.m., so email me to RSVP as soon as you can!
This fun card features the Cheep Talk set (never get tired of that one!) and Bermuda Bay cardstock, one of our New In Colors. The birds are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo, also part of the new In Color Collection. Get in on all the fun at this month's Stamp Camp!

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 109
This week's Re-Work Wednesday project comes from page 109 of the new catalog. I used the whale stamp from the Animal Stories set, and a small square of the Tall Tales Designer Series Paper. I just love that paper, by the way! The original card is shown below:
I grabbed this idea when I saw the artist had stamped onto our Twill Tape. This tape has been around for a while, but I tend to forget about it. It's great because the package has 3 sizes (for only $5.95!), and you can stamp right on it. FYI, I tried stamping both in Classic and Craft ink, but found the Classic turned out better--and less messy!

Shiny, Happy Circles
I'm still playing with the new Circle Circus stamp set, and finding even more ways to use this set! For this card, I embossed with silver the image I'm calling the "bubble stamp." I then mixed re-inkers with Crystal Effects and painted those on, either with a small brush, or a toothpick, depending on the size of the "bubble."
You could try this technique with regular ink, but the silver embossing seems to hold the CE/re-inker painting in better.
Even with embossing and painting, this card can be done in 15-20 minutes, which is not bad!

Circling Around
This is the card we made at my Open House last week, where stampers got to pick their catalogs and see some fun new products. It's another example of how to use the new set, Circle Circus. It also uses the new Modern Label punch.
There are so many ways to use the Circle Circus set, and I've got more lined up to show you! For this card, we stamped the circles in Basic Brown, then colored with Stampin' Pastels. This card is quick and easy, but the results are dramatic!

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 56
It's time for the first Re-Work Wednesday of the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog! This project was taken from page 56 of the new book. In going through the book, I really love the great little tips that are on each 2-page spread. They feature techniques and give tips about how various products work together.
Among the tips is this little faux-quilting technique, which is just done with a ruler and a bone folder. You'll have lots of fun reading the tips and learning some new stuff! If you need to get a catalog, email me or plan to attend my Open House on Thursday, 6-8 p.m.

Running in Circles
Today we say goodbye to the current catalog, and welcome the brand new one, which starts tomorrow! This sample was made with a new set, called Circle Circus. As the name implies, it has lots of circles, big, small and scalloped, to play with!
We will be working with this set at my Open House on Thursday, 6-8 p.m. You can come at any time, but I do appreciate RSVPs, so that I can prepare materials. Come see the new book and get some ink on your hands!
