When I first saw the stamp set, Apothecary Art, I immediately started picturing all sorts of pink and red designs--maybe because of the beautiful detailed flowers on some of the stamps. But I wanted to push myself to go in another direction, so I started with the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper and went from there. If you're ever having trouble with a color combination, just open the Idea Book & Catalog to pages 184-186, where all the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper is shown, and simply choose one of the color combos used in a paper set. The colors used in each set are all listed for you, so take advantage!

In coordination with Apothecary Art, this card uses the new Sizzix Big Shot Labels Framelits die.

Build a Blossom

The Blossom Petals Builder punch makes such an impact on a card and it's so easy because it coordinates with the Build a Blossom stamp set. What a quick way to assemble a card!

The Cherry Cobbler card is edged with the new Sizzix Big Shot Edgelits Adorning Accents die, another way to make a dramatic impact.

You've Got a Big Heart

This large scallop heart, the largest in the new Sizzix Big Shot Hearts Framelits set, deserves a big card of its own. That's because it's 5" tall! To make a card big enough to fit it, cut a piece of cardstock (I used Tangerine Tango) to 5.5" wide by 11" tall, then fold in half. The heart is cut from Beyond the Garden paper--so tropical! The die-cut flower is from the Fun Flowers die. I distressed the edges of the flower a little by pulling the paper apart and then inking the edges.

This card uses the new Sizzix Big Shot Edgelits dies, and the coordinating Embossing Folders. And while I was at it, I figured, why cut one edge when you can cut three?? I love this look because it reminds me of draped bunting, which seems perfect on a card for a celebration. This card will be perfect for a girl or a guy. Ring Around the Rosette

The new Rosette Die in the Mini Catalog is so fun! This rosette on this card uses two of the rosette strips, cut from Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and glued together. The little strip along the bottom is the part that was cut off when I ran the die through the Sizzix Big Shot! We will be making this card at this month's Card Cafe on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. For more details on all the cards available, click here.

Here is another version of this card, with four rosette strips glued together. It makes a much fuller and tighter rosette. I just thought you might like to see the different looks that can be created:

Be Mine, Valentine

Today, I'm showcasing the new Sizzix Big Shot Hearts Framelits from the Occasions Mini catalog. The two pink hearts layer perfectly when cut with the Framelits.

This card, which uses the Candy Conversations stamp from the mini catalog, will be one of the cards offered at this month's card cafe, on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m.

Labels Framelits & a Card Cafe Project

I'm having great fun playing with the new Sizzix Big Shot Labels Framelits dies shown in the Occasions Mini catalog and this is the first project I have to share with you. Don't you just love the way the frames layer so nicely? The Apothecary Art stamp set fits the dies perfectly and provides some beautiful images to watercolor. Here is an up-close photo of the stamp:
