Biography

I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, with an active downline. As many demonstrators say, stamping came into my life just when I needed it. Shortly before my son was born seven years ago, I closed down a business I had in the late 1990s, designing cross-stitch patterns. While I loved the creativity involved in designing intricate samplers, I found it was too much work for a relatively small financial reward. I was sad to close that business, and I cried as I cleaned out my inventory cabinet.

When my son was born in 2001, I became a stay-at-home mom, a job I loved. But closing my previous business had left a hole in my creative heart.

About that time, a friend introduced me to SU! at an in-home workshop. I was that person who tags along to the party, just to get out of the house! I was thrilled with my little make-and-take that evening, and delighted that something so creative could be made in so little time. After all the countless hours I had spent on needlework pieces, I was ready for projects that could be completed during naptime!

I jumped in with both feet, buying supplies like crazy, and when my regular demonstrator said, "Hey, you know you can get a discount if you become a demonstrator?" that was all I needed to hear.

Like many demonstrators, I joined for the discount, but went on to build a thriving business. I love teaching others to stamp, and I get great joy from sharing my creations with others.

As my son got older and went off to school (sad mommy), I found I had time for another adventure I had always wanted to try: triathlons! I now do 2 or 3 sprint triathlons each summer, a hobby that pushes my 40-year-old body to the limit! So, when I am not swimming, biking, or running, I'm stamping or scrapbooking. But that's just the way I like it. Who needs sleep when you've got stamps?
