Today we say goodbye to the current catalog, and welcome the brand new one, which starts tomorrow! This sample was made with a new set, called Circle Circus. As the name implies, it has lots of circles, big, small and scalloped, to play with!
We will be working with this set at my Open House on Thursday, 6-8 p.m. You can come at any time, but I do appreciate RSVPs, so that I can prepare materials. Come see the new book and get some ink on your hands!
This is my third post using the Razzle Dazzle set from the new catalog, so you're starting to get the idea how many different looks you can get with this set! Today, I went with the large flower motif, coloring it with Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy markers.
The focal image does all the work on this card, so I kept the embellishments simple. Even with coloring the different markers onto the stamp, this is a card you can do in about 10 minutes, which makes it perfect for me!
Today's Re-Work Wednesday post again features the Razzle Dazzle set, which will be in the new catalog, available July 1. I chose to work the card on page 86, using the Scalloped Envelope die in the Big Shot. The original card is shown below.
I used the new In Color markers on the background stamp that comes in the Razzle Dazzle set. This is a fun stamp! You can use the entire stamp in one color, use markers to add different colors, or use just one or two of the the little patterns.

This is a little sleeve that slips over the neck of a standard water bottle, and holds a little packet of Crystal Light drink mix. They are quick to make and fun to display at parties. I made a few for my recent Hostess Appreciation Night.
To make one, cut a strip of cardstock 2-1/2" wide, by 9" long. Score at 2-1/4" and 6-1/2." Fold up the last score and secure with brads to make the pocket. Fold at the first score line, then punch a 1-3/8" circle to go over the bottle neck. I also punched a 1-3/8" circle from a scrap, then punched a scalloped circle around that, to make a little ring to go around the hole. This adds a bit of decoration, and gives the ring around the bottle neck a little more security.
This little project features the Razzle Dazzle stamp set, which will be in the new catalog, due out July 1. It also features some of our new In Colors, which are quite dramatic.

This is my first Sneak Peek at the new catalog, which becomes available July 1. The giraffe is part of a cute little stamp set called Animal Stories. The Designer Series Paper--too cute!--is from the Tall Tales paper pack.
I colored the giraffe with some of our new In Colors, which was easy to do, because now we have the In Colors in markers, oh happy day! The card base is Crushed Curry, and the mounting piece for the focal point is Dusty Durango, all new In Colors.

Still looking for a good masculine-card idea for Father's Day? Well, here is the one I designed for my hubby. It features the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I always like the nature-themed stamps for masculine cards.
I stamped the tree, then colored in with stipple brushes. To use stipple brushes, just dab them in an ink pad, and then pounce onto the stamped image. They provide a unique texture.
To achieve the "mosaic" look of the tree, I stamped and colored the image on a 2.5 inch square, then cut it into 1/2-inch strips. I swiped a Basic Brown pad around the edges of all 5 strips, then adhered them, edges touching, onto a piece of Really Rust. It's just a fun way to add a little interest to your focal point.

This is a quick and easy card featuring Say It With Scallops, this year's Ronald McDonald House set. Each year, Stampin' Up! has one set that benefits that charity--for each set that is sold, SU donates $2. To date, SU has donated more than $700,000 to this worthy cause, so these are some pretty powerful stamps!

It's time for my favorite feature: Re-Work Wednesday, where I pick a sample from the catalog and remake it using whatever stamps and colors I have on hand. Today, I chose the card on page 133. It features the Oulined for Fun set, which I don't have. However, it also features the Heart to Heart punch (the one with three hearts), and I do have that, so I knew it was a good fit for me. The original card is shown below:
For my stamped phrase, I chose the "for you" image from One of a Kind. I stamped some of the hearts from Love You Much, and punched those out, and then just punched some extras from Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red cardstock. I'm really going to miss those In Colors! The bottom layer of Designer Series paper is Sweet Slumber.
