Celebrate in Style

This card uses the new Sizzix Big Shot Edgelits dies, and the coordinating Embossing Folders. And while I was at it, I figured, why cut one edge when you can cut three?? I love this look because it reminds me of draped bunting, which seems perfect on a card for a celebration. This card will be perfect for a girl or a guy. Ring Around the Rosette

The new Rosette Die in the Mini Catalog is so fun! This rosette on this card uses two of the rosette strips, cut from Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and glued together. The little strip along the bottom is the part that was cut off when I ran the die through the Sizzix Big Shot! We will be making this card at this month's Card Cafe on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. For more details on all the cards available, click here.

Here is another version of this card, with four rosette strips glued together. It makes a much fuller and tighter rosette. I just thought you might like to see the different looks that can be created:

Be Mine, Valentine

Today, I'm showcasing the new Sizzix Big Shot Hearts Framelits from the Occasions Mini catalog. The two pink hearts layer perfectly when cut with the Framelits.

This card, which uses the Candy Conversations stamp from the mini catalog, will be one of the cards offered at this month's card cafe, on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m.

Labels Framelits & a Card Cafe Project

I'm having great fun playing with the new Sizzix Big Shot Labels Framelits dies shown in the Occasions Mini catalog and this is the first project I have to share with you. Don't you just love the way the frames layer so nicely? The Apothecary Art stamp set fits the dies perfectly and provides some beautiful images to watercolor. Here is an up-close photo of the stamp:

Cards cost $3 each, 6 for $15, or 12 for $25 and you can make as many as you like. Each project comes with all precut materials, as well as a photo and instructions, so if you're pressed for time, you can always do the stamping and punching during class and then assemble the cards at home. A Few Tricks, a Few Treats--New Card Cafe!

 

It's time to get Spooky! I'm relaunching my Card Cafe class on Oct. 15, with both Halloween and Christmas cards to assemble--yes, I know, I'm mixing my genres. But, I have plans for another great class in November and I want to give you a chance to get in some Christmas cards while we can, so both Tricks and Treats are on the agenda for October.

Card Cafe will have a slightly different spin now, for those of you who have participated before. I'll still have a variety of cards to choose from, but instead of making your choices at the class, I will post the cards on my blog in advance, and have you email me your choice of cards and how many of each you would like to make. Remember, a great part about Card Cafe is that you can make multiples of a design you really like--giving you a chance to build your pre-made card stash. If your time is limited, you can always stamp the images during class and assemble at home because you will have a picture for reference. To see the cards for the upcoming Card Cafe, click here.

And while I am not having my traditional Christmas Card Camp this year, I will have two Christmas card designs available at the Oct. 15 Card Cafe and you can make as many of them as you like. In fact, I'm offering a special price for those who want to do a bunch! Here are the details:

Chairs to You

I was so excited when I saw this little set of four chairs in the Have a Seat set. I love the simplicity and clean lines, and I appreciate how I can use it for any occasion, particularly on a masculine card.
