I always love looking at other people's craft room photos, so I thought I would post some of mine here. Beware, my space is happy and functional, although not exactly a design mecca. But, it makes me very happy!
As you enter, immediately to your right is this wonderful bookshelf I bought from Ikea. It has 25 cubbies (!) and I bought pretty red library-style boxes to fit some of the cubbies, to hold lots of odds and ends. They hold my samples, my SU plastic bags, various tools, such as my heat gun and my Stamp-a-ma-jig, as well as supplies for some of my other crafts, like beading and crochet.
Opposite the cubbies is this office-style desk that was left over from our last office. I decided the colors worked with my scheme and the price was right--free! The top cabinets hold my SU catalogs and such, the file cabinet holds order forms and other important papers, and the top surface is reserved as a cutting station. My Circle Scissor Plus and my Big Shot reside here.
Next to the cutting station is, perhaps, the envy of every crafter I've ever met. It is a turning display case made for another stamp company. It was on display at a local craft store, and when it went out of business, I put my name on a list to be called when they liquidated the display items. One Sunday, I got home from church and had a voice mail that today was the day to come get the items. I raced there and nabbed this baby just in time! The clear plastic shelves hold so many goodies: My Big Shot dies, my wheels, glitter, EPs, chipboard, etc. All that storage, and it only takes up about an 18" footprint! To the right of the display case, you can see the Decor Elements I put up around my window. I hope to post a photo as soon as the valance goes up.
This is another great piece left over from our last house, but it fits perfectly here. It actually is a craft armoire made by Sauder. I had purchased it for our previous house, because I wanted a piece that could be placed in the living room and closed up when not in use. However, because I have a dedicated craft room in this house, it stays open at all times. The work space is generous and there is room for my Color Caddy and a turntable for my regularly used tools. I also can fit lots of supplies on the shelves. Notice the punch holders mounted above the table. Those are rods from Ikea. The hubby went to Home Depot and told the guy that he needed to mount them in such a way that he could "do chinups on them." See, he knows how much those punches weigh!
This is another display case from the craft store that went out of business. On it, I keep all my non-SU stamps. Yes, I do buy stamps from other companies on occasion, just because I am a stamp-aholic!
This is the cabinet where I keep all my current SU stamps. The cabinet, which is only about 3' high, isn't nearly full at the moment. When it is, it can house about 150 stamp sets. I keep stamp sets organized much as they are in the catalog, by theme. I know I love touting my "deals" here, but I can't resist on this one. I got it at a department store overstock outlet for $29, back when I first started stamping. It is one of my all-time favorite deals.
The only thing you won't see in these photos is paper, which lives in the walk-in-closet of this room, along with a bookshelf, a dresser that houses retired stamp sets, and lots of other goodies. I would have taken photos, but it was a bit messy that day (big surprise!), so you'll have to use your imagination!
Hope you have enjoyed seeing my highly functional, not so gorgeous room. It may not always be pretty, but it gets the job done. Hmmmm, sounds like someone I know...
