A while back, I did a weekly series called Re-Work Wednesday. I stopped it for a bit, and now I'm coming back to it because I think it's a great way to teach you how to find inspiration for your cards and projects. The idea is that I pick a project from the Stampin' Up! catalog, then re-work it into a project of my own, using a different color scheme and whatever stamps and I tools I happen to have (because, believe it or not, I don't own everything in the catalog, either!). I want you to know you can see a card in the catalog and interpret it using your own supplies.
So, I'm kicking things off with a re-work of the gift bag found on page 11 of the Idea Book & Catalog. The original uses hearts and a brighter color scheme:
I was in a Fall frame of mind, so I went with the richer colors found in the Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper. I used one of the Boho Blossoms flower punches and mounted each one onto a 3/4" square of Crumb Cake paper. The Medallion stamp provides a nice background on the Rich Razzleberry card.
Now, about that other "new stuff" I mentioned in the title. This post marks my 350th post on this blog, since I started back in 2008. What a lot of stamping! Anyway, I've been doing this a while and I was ready for a change, so I have redesigned my blog banner and some of the sidebar buttons to reflect the different things I am doing these days. I'm providing online video stamping classes (click here to see a video on my new class), and I have some other projects in the works as well, including a weekly technique series you can subscribe to. So, come back and visit me often to see all I have to offer you, as you decide What2Stamp!
