Re-Work Wednesday: Page 138

This week's Re-Work Wednesday is an easy but cute project that gets its detail from a Top Note die cut that has been embossed with a Texturz Plate. And yes, I know there's no stamping on it (it's all made with the Big Shot), but you can stamp a message on the inside!

I made this card last week, for my hubby's birthday. I think the colors are great for a man or a woman. I love cards that are "uni-sexy," as one stamper I know calls them! The thing I wanted to point out is this: When I needed a card, I took the same advice I give all of you--I opened up the catalog and found something I could make my own. The original card I used for inspiration is shown below:

Christmas Tree Week-Part 3 (And Re-Work Wednesday!)

Because it's Christmas Tree Week here on What2Stamp, I couldn't resist incorporating that into my regular Re-Work Wednesday feature. Remember, on Re-Work Wednesday, I take a card or other project in the catalog, and re-work it using stamps and accessories I happen to have--just to show you what you can do with your own supplies.

Today's inspiration comes from page 38 of the Idea Book & Catalog. The original is shown below:

I used Lovely As a Tree, an old favorite. After stamping in Basic Brown, I dabbed on some Stampin' Pastels. And, rather than use the die cut shown, I used my Ticket Corner Punch to dress up the edges of my Ruby Red accent. The thick ribbon and knot in the bow makes it a thick card to mail--but it's perfect for those cards you hand out at the office!

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 62

This week's Re-Work Wednesday project is inspired by page 62 of the Idea Book & Catalog. Instead of the Cheers to You set--which I also love!--I used the Simply Said set. The original design is shown below:

 

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 64

Today's Re-Work Wednesday project is a super simple bookmark. I liked the one in the original image, shown below, but each heart had to be hand cut for that version. You know me--I'm all about simplifying! My version uses the Full Heart Punch, instead of cutting.

For my ribbon, I stamped a phrase from the Best Wishes & More set, onto a piece of Twill Tape, using a Real Red Craft Spot.
 

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 22 of the Holiday Mini Catalog

The inspiration for this week's Re-Work Wednesday project comes from the Holiday Mini Catalog, page 22. The original project is actually a chipboard book, but I thought the design would make a fun card. The original is shown below:

 

This card uses this year's In Color markers, as well as a hostess stamp, called Holiday Best.

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 102

Sorry I'm a little late getting this week's Re-Work Wednesday posted. My son woke up sick this morning, so that has definitely slowed us down today!

This week's project is inspired by page 102 of the Idea Book & Catalog, and by the fact that on Monday, I received my new Peace Within stamp set. There's nothing like getting a new stamp set to get the juices flowing! The original project is shown below:

This stamp set begs to be watercolored, so I used my Watercolor Crayons and an Aquapainter on Watercolor Paper to achieve the subtle shading.

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 178

This week's Re-Work Wednesday project is inspired by page 178 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. I chose it because I loved the detail added by the little paper clip from the Clips Assortment and the brad. The original is shown below:

Instead of the heart, I decided to use a butterfly die cut for the Big Shot and I cut it from a piece of Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper. I didn't have the Filigree brad shown in the original, so I swapped it for a pink brad from the Flowers Assortment.

That paper behind the butterfly? Well, it's exactly what it looks like--a piece of notebook paper! I knew my son's school supplies would come in handy someday! To continue on with the school/office look, I punched the bottom of the card with the Spiral Punch.
 

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 46

Today's Re-Work Wednesday project is inspired by page 46 of the Idea Book & Catalog. Because I am in a fall frame of mind, I chose to work with the Autumn Harvest stamp set.

I stamped the pumpkin in Basic Brown and then colored it in with Watercolor Crayons and an Aquapainter. I love the Watercolor Crayons--even somebody like me, with no formal training, can look like an artist!

Remember, the whole point of Re-Work Wednesday is to show you how you can take a design you like from the catalog, and make it your own, choosing your own colors and working with stamps you have. In this case, I didn't have the cute brown button shown in the original, so I die cut a button with the Big Shot and tied some linen thread through it. Find a design you like and re-work it today!
 

Re-Work Wednesday: Page 121

 

This week's Re-Work Wednesday project comes from an unexpected source--My Digital Studio! I've been working with the scrapbooking portion of the program, but this is the first card I've made. It was super quick and easy to make and I love the realistic details this program provides--check out the grosgrain ribbon and the shiny brad!
