30-Second Shopping Spree at a Local Scrapbook Store

Ever wonder how it would feel to run through your favorite store and grab everything you can? Well, here's a video showing just that! Whim-so-doodle, a local scrapbook store in St. Petersburg, FL, gives away a 30-second shopping spree each year, at its holiday open house. One lucky winner (no, it wasn't me, I just shot the video!) was given 30 seconds to run around the store and grab all the product she could during that time. She grabbed lots of Tim Holtz dies and a die-cutting machine. Just thought you'd enjoy this fun video of a dream come true!

Big Box O' Stuff

Hi guys! I know I've been a little quiet on here lately, but as we get closer to the end of summer (and more time for me), I'm starting to make some plans for upcoming classes and projects. Which gave me a perfect excuse to order a bunch of new stuff! Like I needed a reason, right? Anyway, I will be posting some fun new ideas soon, but I thought I'd share the joy of getting a box of stampin' supplies by making a short video showing my new toys. Have fun watching!

 

Masking with Post-It Notes

It's time for another spooooky card! This one features the Autumn Harvest stamp set. I love this set because its pumpkin images are so versatile for all Fall activities--pumpkin patches, Halloween, you name it. This card uses the masking technique, which is done with a simple Post-It Note. To learn how, watch the video below:

 

Rock-and-Roll Hippo

OK, no, I'm not talking about a hippo with a really great beat and some fancy footwork! I'm talking about a stamping technique called "Rock-and-Roll." It's a fun and easy way to add some dimension to your stamped images. To learn how, watch this quick video; it lasts just over a minute.

Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

 

This is a quick and easy card using the Trendy Trees stamp set. What makes it super quick is that the tools are doing all the work here: I cut a large circle using the Circle Scissor Plus tool, and punched cardstock using the Scalloped Circle Punch and the Large Tag Punch.

To line up the tree and the tree trunk perfectly, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, a must for this particular stamp set. To view a video tutorial on how to use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, click on the video below.

Adding the Top Note Edge to a Card

 

Many card makers (including me!) have used the Big Shot Top Note die as a fun layer on a card. But those are always made by adding a layer and recently, I decided to see if I could create the Top Note Edge on a card WITHOUT adding a layer. I wanted the edge to be on the card itself. Because the Big Shot cuts the entire image when you crank the cardstock through, I knew this would entail cutting the paper part of the way, then backing it out again. My New YouTube Channel

I had great fun this weekend, making my first video tutorials for my YouTube channel. I'm starting with some simple instructional videos, then I will begin to add more detailed projects. I have discovered that I love creating the videos because I love demonstrating various stamping techniques, and this allows me to reach more people. Also, as some of my regular customers, you will be able to view the videos at any time that is convenient for you, day or night!
